Directions

1. To make the hot chocolate, in a large pot simmer the milk, cream, water, sugar, star anise, and thyme together over medium heat and gently simmer for 10 minutes.
2. Whisk in the hot chocolate powder and chopped chocolate slab. Cook for another 2–3 minutes over low heat.
3 Pour into mugs. It can be served with whipped cream.
4. To make the lava cakes, cook the lava cakes according to package instructions.
5. While the lava cakes are cooking, chop the chocolate slab and half of the coated almonds finely and mix them together in a bowl.
6. When the lava cakes come out of the oven, serve with the chopped nuts and garnish with whole coated almonds and fresh pomegranate pips.

Tip: Replace the pomegranate slab with your favourite Forage and Feast chocolate slab.

  • 750ml full cream milk
  • 750ml cream
  • 750ml water
  • 80g castor sugar, optional
  • 1 star anise; whole
  • 1 sprig thyme

  • 100g Forage and Feast Dark Hot Chocolate

 

For the Lava Cakes:

  • 100g Forage and Feast Dark Chocolate Coated Almonds
  • 50g Forage and Feast Dark Chocolate Slab with Pomegranate
  • 50g pomegranate pips
